How to obtain DHL Express API Key (Site ID) and API Secret (Password)

In order to set up DHL Express in shipping solution like Ship&co, you need to obtain a API Key (Site ID) and API Secret (Password). If you already have a Site ID and Password, you can set your DHL account in Ship&co, following these steps:

Note: Starting from August 28th, 2023, DHL Express has changed the service term from Site ID to API Key and Password to API Secret. 

How to Register DHL Express API Developer Portal Service

To obtain DHL's Site ID and Password, you first need to access the DHL Express API Developer Portal Service (https://developer.dhl.com/dhl-express-xml-developer-portal-sunset) and create an account.

To register for the DHL Express API Developer Portal Service, please follow these steps:

1. Go to DHL Express XML Developer Portal Sunset site.
   
2. Click Register to create an account.
3. Fill the necessary information in Register page.
   
   • First name & Last name
   • Email address
   • Username
   • Company name
   • Country
   • Site language
4. Tick on「I have read and accept the terms of us and privacy policy*」
5. Click Send.
   Email titled「Account details for 〇〇〇〇 at DHL API Developer Portal」will be sent to your registered email.
6. Click the URL in Account details for 〇〇〇〇 at DHL API Developer Portal email to access SET PASSWORD screen.

7. Click Log In and set up your Password.

8. Click Save.

You have now completed the account registration for DHL Express XML Developer Portal Sunset.

How to obtain DHL Express API Key (Site ID) and API Secret (Password)

1. Go to DHL Express XML Service website.
   URL：https://developer.dhl.com/api-reference/dhl-express-xml#get-started-section
2. Click Get Access.
3. Fill the necessary information in the DHL EXPRESS - MYDHL API ON-BOARDING REQUEST form. 
   • DHL Express Account Number: Enter your 9-digit DHL Account Number.
   • Requestor Company Details: Input your information in English.
   • Are the Requestor Details the same as the DHL Express Account Owner details?: Select Yes.
   • How would you like to use the API?: Select I require credentials to DHL Express – MyDHL API for an existing plugin/ecommerce platform/third-party solution.
   • Requestor Platform Name：Enter「Ship&co」
   • Requested Services：Tick on Rating and Shipment.
   • Rating Details：Enter 'Rating' and add your monthly shipment volume
   • Create Shipment Details：Enter 'Create Shipment' and add your monthly shipment volume
     
     
4. Tick on 'I accept the DHL Express Terms of Use' and 'I accept the DHL Express General Terms and Privacy and Cookies Policy' and click Submit.
   Within 24 hours on working days, you will receive 2 emails from DHL XML Services Portal:
   
   • DHL Express - MyDHL API: Test access approved
   • DHL Express - MyDHL API: Production access approved
5. Click URL located in the email titled 'DHL Express - MyDHL API: Production access approved' and login to API Developer Portal using registered Username and Password.
   
   
6. Click 'DHL Express - MyDHL API - Company name - JP' on the Apps page.
7. Click on Show key to see API Key and API Secret.
   

By following the above steps, your DHL Express API Key and API Secret is now issued.

Note: The API Key issuance operates during weekday hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. If you register after the conclusion of weekday business hours (after 5:30 PM), the issuance procedure will be processed by the DHL system on the subsequent business day.
