In this article, let's take a look at what each of the "General preferences" settings mean and how you can set them to your preference.
Signature refers to the shipping option of requiring the recipient to leave a signature upon receipt of the parcel. This pertains only for international shipping.
You can set the default signature option for all your shipments (i.e. whether you would like to request recipient's signature or not). You can ofcourse also adjust for individual orders, but setting a default will help save time.
To do so, go to "Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "Ask for a signature on delivery by default". You can see the default setting of the signature request upon clicking "Edit."
ON means signature is requested
OFF means signature is not requested
You will need to input the parcel weight for international shipments. You can choose to input the weight in grams (g) or kilograms (kg).
Go to "Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "Your default weight unit". You can see the default setting of the weight (either in grams (g) or kilograms (kg)) upon clicking "Edit".
For international orders, you can pre-set discount rate of the declared parcel value. You can set the discount rate for individual shipments, but setting a default discount rate can help you save time if your discount to be applied is consistent across shipments.
To set a default discount rate, go to "Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "Your default discount rate".
“Settings” >> “Orders” >> Click on the desired order >> Enter your desired discount rate in “discount”.
Once that is done, the discounted rate will be reflected in the unit price each item, as well as in the total overall price of the "Ordered items" list.
For international orders, you can set the default product type.
After adding the desired product type ("Settings", "Product type"), you can choose to set the default product type that will also appear. Other product type will appear in the drop down of each order item.
To set the default product type, go to "Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "Your default type of content". You can see the content type options upon clicking "Edit".
Your display language for Ship&co can be changed.
"Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "Your language". You can set your language upon clicking ‘edit.’
You can choose from three languages: Japanese, English, or French.
CSV File Encoding
You can open CVS files in Excel, or other software. This is especially useful when you are trying to export a list, for example on the "Shipments" tab, where you can export details of the shipments you have created.
In the "Fulfilled Orders List", when filtering with a shipping company or date, the "CSV output" button will be displayed. “Shipments” >> “Carriers” OR “Date”.
Upon choosing your carrier OR date, the “Export CSV” will pop up underneath your selection. Click the button to download the filtered CSV file of the published list.
To set the CSV file encoding format, go to "Settings" >> "General Preferences" >> "Edit" >> "XSV File Encoding”. You can select your preferred format upon clicking "Edit".
