You can create Yu-Pack and Yu-Packet services provided by Japan Post (Nihon Yubin) using Ship&co and ship your parcels domestically in Japan.
In this article, we will guide you to steps to connect your Japan Post account with Ship&co.
Obtain the Japan Post Credentials
To connect your Japan Post account and ship your parcels with Yu-Pack and Yu-Packet services in Ship&co, you will need to obtain the Japan Post Credentials by applying for ゆうパック送り状作成システム.
Note: In order to obtain Japan Post Credentials, you will need to fill the request form for Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation System in Japanese. This service is different from the ゆうパックプリント(Yu-Pack Printing Service) that Japan Post offer, so please make sure to follow below steps to finish your registration.
To request for Japan Post Credentials, follow these steps:
- Go to ゆうパック送り状作成システム (Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation System).
- Click 上記の規則に同意し、ゆうパック送り状作成システムを申し込む (= I accept above service term and register for Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation System).
- Please fill the In the 送り状作成システム申込 (Shipping Label Creation System Registration) form.
- Shop Information - Input your shop name & URL.
- Company Information - Input your company name & address.
- Contact Information - Input your name, telephone number, email address and answer the required information including your monthly shipment volume, usage of EMS, Japan Post representative name and contact you have.
- Japan Post Payment Contract - Input the correct information for following topics:
Post Office's Branch Name (差出予定郵便局名): Input Japan Post branch you are planning to drop your package.
Deferred Payment Client Code(後納顧客コード): Input your 32-digit Client code (顧客コード) displayed on your Yubin Biz Card (ゆうびんビズカード) received from Japan Post.
Japan Post Branch Name (契約郵便局名等): Input Japan Post branch you have made a contract with.
Cash-On-Delivery Service (代金引換まとめ送金サービス): Select if you are going to use (利用する) or not use (利用しない) the Cash-on-delivery service provided by Japan Post.
Note: Make sure to answer this based on your actual contract with Japan Post. If you don't have a cash on delivery agreement with Japan Post, please select 'not use (利用しない)'. You can apply for it later by directly informing the sales representative of the local post office in order to add this contract to your account.
- Click 確認 (Confirm).
- After you have completed the application, you will receive an email from Japan Post with the following title:
「Ship&co」ゆうパック送り状作成サービスのお申し込みを受け付けました。
[Ship&co] Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation Service Application has been accepted. - After Japan Post concludes the review of the contract contents, you will receive an email with the following title:
「Ship&co」ゆうパック送り状作成サービスご利用承認通知
[Ship&co] Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation Service Usage Approval Notice.
Note: Email will be sent in Japanese. - In some case, you will receive an email with the following title:
「Ship&co」ゆうパック送り状作成サービスのご利用申し込み、ありがとうございました。
[Ship&co] Thanks for registering for Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation Service Usage.
This email will state that Japan Post cannot offer Yu-Pack Shipping Label Creation Service to you. In most cases, it is due to the following details:
(1) The incorrect contract information has been input in the registration form.
(2) There was no response when Japan Post representative was reaching out to customer.
In that case, please contact your Japan Post representative.
In order to avoid those issues, please make sure to fill the correct information.
- After you have completed the application, you will receive an email from Japan Post with the following title:
After receiving the above email, please check your credentials in the email.
Connect your Japan Post (Yu-Pack & Yu-Packet) account on Ship&co
To connect your Japan Post (Yu-Pack & Yu-Packet) account on Ship&co, follow these steps:
- On the Carriers page, click on the Japan Post (Domestic) icon.
- Select on Japan Post shipping services: Yu-Pack, Yu-Packet.
- In the Japan Post credentials section, input the Japan Post credentials obtained from above steps.
- In the Print Settings section, choose the Paper size: Standard A5. (There is also the 4x8 inches type which is a customized one for a specific case approved by JP Post, and it is available when using Ship&co API)
The Label Type is set as PDF by default. When printing Yu-Pack shipping labels, use the special paper “Y00783” (A4 Size). To obtain this shipping supply, please contact the post office. - Click Save.
Now, the credentials registration process is complete. You can start creating shipping label in Ship&co and ship your domestic orders in Japan with Japan Post.
