Ship&co supports UPS's new integration specifications (OAuth 2.0 authentication process). The API access key, which was previously required, is no longer necessary with the new integration.
----
If you have a UPS account and would like to start shipping with Ship&co, you can easily connect your UPS account using the new UPS OAuth 2.0 process. This guide will walk you through the steps to connect your UPS account to Ship&co.
Connect Your UPS Account on Ship&co
Just follow these steps and you'll be ready to start shipping with UPS in no time:
1. Navigate to the Carriers Page:
- On the Carriers page, click on the UPS icon.
2. Input the Necessary Information:
- Name to Display for This Account: Assign a name to your UPS account within Ship&co for better management. Ship&co supports shipping using multiple UPS accounts. If you have multiple UPS accounts for different brands, regions, subsidiaries etc, naming each account will help you identify the account you want to use. If you leave this field blank, the UPS account number will be displayed as the default name.
- Account Number: Add your UPS 6-digit account number (or shipper number).
- Delivery Signature Option: When creating a shipping label, you can apply a paid delivery signature option. Please select the default UPS signature service to be used. You can choose either “Signature Required” or “Adult Signature Required (ASR).”
- Restricted products – Alcohol: If you plan to ship alcoholic beverages and have already concluded an ISC (International Special Commodities) agreement with UPS, please check this box.
- UPS package types: If you plan to use UPS-branded packaging materials, please check the corresponding box for the packaging type. Once saved, you will be able to select the packaging from the shipment details menu (•••) in the “Parcels” section for each order. For detailed instructions on how to call up packaging materials, please refer to this page.
- Print settings: If you are using a laser or inkjet printer, please select "PDF" and "Standard A4". If you are using a thermal printer, choose "PDF" or "ZPL" with "4x6 inches" label size. Please note that ZPL requires a separate tool to be installed (not supported on the latest Windows OS), and it does not offer a print preview. For this reason, we recommend using PDF format even when printing with thermal printers.
3. Authenticate with UPS:
- After completing the above, click "Save."
- You will be redirected to the UPS login page. Use your usual UPS account login ID and password to log in.
- Accept the request to connect your UPS account with the Ship&co app.
- You will be redirected back to the Ship&co page.
Additional UPS Features on Ship&co
- DDP and DDU Shipments: Support for Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) and Delivery Duty Unpaid (DDU) shipments.
- UPS Insurance: Option to add UPS insurance for your shipments.
- Domestic and International Shipments: Support for both domestic and international shipments, depending on the services available in your location.
- Delivery Signature Option: Option to require a signature for deliveries.
- Multi-Piece Shipment: Create a UPS shipment with multiple packages for one consignee on Ship&co.
- Cancellation of Shipping Labels: If you cancel a UPS shipping label in the Ship&co screen, the corresponding data will also be invalidated in the UPS system automatically.
For Ship&co API Users
The new OAuth 2.0 process for adding a UPS account to Ship&co doesn't make it possible to add a UPS account via our API. If you use our API to get rates and create shipments, you'll need to add a UPS account through the Ship&co Carriers page.
