Tax Number Support for eBay Sellers on Ship&co (IOSS, VOEC, SST, ABN, IRD, etc)

For orders that include tax number / business registration number data from eBay indicating that eBay has collected the destination country's local tax, Ship&co automatically processes these numbers retrieved from eBay and passes them to each carrier as the shipper's tax number. Ship&co continuously updates its system to support as many tax numbers as possible.

Please note that IOSS numbers and other tax IDs automatically synced from eBay are not displayed in the Ship&co order screen UI.

Using IOSS together with other tax numbers

When a destination-specific local tax number (VOEC, ABN, IRD, SST, or the French VAT ID) applies to a shipment, the IOSS number is not sent. A destination-specific tax number indicates that tax has already been collected under that country's scheme, so it is not used together with IOSS, which is an EU import scheme. Germany's OSS is an exception: OSS applies to sales within the EU and serves a different purpose from IOSS, which is used for import declarations, so the IOSS number continues to be sent even when OSS applies.

Japan Post International Shipping

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for Japan Post international shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to EU member states.
• IOSS (UK): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the United Kingdom.
• VOEC, SST, ABN, IRD: Automatically retrieved and applied as the shipper's tax ID for shipments to Norway (VOEC), Malaysia (SST), Australia (ABN), and New Zealand (IRD) respectively.
   

UPS

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for UPS shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
• VOEC: Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to Norway
   

DHL

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for DHL shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
• VOEC, SST, ABN, IRD: Automatically retrieved and applied as the shipper's tax ID for shipments to Norway (VOEC), Malaysia (SST), Australia (ABN), and New Zealand (IRD) respectively.
• VAT ID (FR): Automatically retrieved and applied to eligible shipments to France.
   

FedEx

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for FedEx shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
• IOSS (UK): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the United Kingdom.
• VOEC, SST, ABN, IRD, OSS: Automatically retrieved and applied as the shipper's tax ID for shipments to Norway (VOEC), Malaysia (SST), Australia (ABN), New Zealand (IRD), and Germany (OSS) respectively.
   

Pegasus Global Express

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for Pegasus shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
   

Yamato Transport International TA-Q-BIN

Ship&co supports the following eBay tax numbers for Yamato international shipments:

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
• VOEC: Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to Norway.

SpeedPAK FedEx / SpeedPAK DHL

• IOSS (EU): Automatically retrieved and applied to shipments to the EU.
   

ECMS

Sending IOSS numbers through ECMS is not currently supported. To ship with IOSS applied via ECMS, you need to contact the ECMS team in advance and have them add your IOSS number to your account settings. Other tax numbers are not supported either.

Additional information

• Confidentiality:
  IOSS numbers are not shown on shipping labels. IOSS numbers are not public information, and they are kept off the label to prevent misuse by others. Please also refrain from adding your IOSS number to the label by hand or by any other means.
   
• Automatic data integration:
  No manual configuration is required in Ship&co to use the tax number integration features described above for eBay orders. Even if you have registered individual country tax numbers under Ship&co's Settings > Tax registration numbers, eBay orders will use the number automatically retrieved from eBay. For non-eBay orders, the number registered under Settings > Tax registration numbers is used.
   
• Handling double charges:
  If a buyer is incorrectly charged VAT again locally even though local VAT was already collected at the time of purchase on eBay, please provide the local carrier with documentation proving the VAT payment made on eBay.
