Japan Domestic Destination Addresses: Character Restrictions

For Japanese domestic destination addresses, the amount of characters that can be used is limited. Please see the following:

• Yamato Transport: Address 1・2・3 (each address can contain a maximum of 16 full-width characters or a maximum of 32 half-width characters).
• Sagawa Express: Address 1・2・3 (each address can contain a maximum of 25 characters, irregardless of whether they are full-width or half-width characters)
• Japan Post: Address 1・2・3 (each address can contain a maximum of 25 characters, irregardless of whether they are full-width or half-width characters)

If you receive an error such as ‘Delivery address 1~3 has exceeded the permitted number of characters (お届先住所1~3で文字数をオーバーしています)’ or ‘destination address is too long (お届け先町・番地が長すぎます)’ etc, please refer to the above character restrictions, and adjust your address.

In addition, depending on the receiver’s address data synchronized from each shop, due to the auto-separation of the address by the shipping carriers’ system you are using, there is a case that the above-mentioned character restrictions do not apply at the time of issuing shipping labels and an error occurs. In that case, please confirm the contents of the displayed error and try to shorten the indicated part.
