Cause of the error
Despite its wording, this error does not necessarily mean the destination address itself is unsupported. It is returned when FedEx's system cannot accept one of the values sent in the request.
Possible causes include:
- FedEx does not serve that destination. FedEx may simply not offer a delivery service to that address or area.
- The delivery signature option is not available for the destination. If the signature option selected in your FedEx settings (e.g. "Non Signature Required / NSR") is not available for that destination country, this error appears. It can happen, for example, on shipments from Japan to the EU when "Non Signature Required" is selected.
- The packaging is not available for that destination or service. Specific packaging such as "FedEx Box" or "FedEx Pak" may not be available for certain destinations or services.
- The size or weight exceeds (or does not meet) the service's limits.
- The destination address contains an error (e.g. wrong postal code, state, or city).
How to resolve
Please try the following in order:
- Uncheck the "Delivery Signature" option on the order page. When unchecked, FedEx applies the free default signature service set for that country. This resolves the error for most destinations. (This does not mean the shipment goes without a signature — a free signature service is applied instead. See "Signature options for FedEx shipments" for details.)
- Do not select "FedEx Box" etc. in the size field, instead enter the actual box dimensions (Length × Width × Height) directly.
- Review the size and weight.
- Check the destination address (postal code, state/province, city) for any errors.
If the issue persists after trying the above, please contact Ship&co support with a screenshot of the error (showing the destination, package contents, and options).
Note: To confirm whether FedEx serves a specific destination, or whether a particular signature option is available, we recommend checking directly with FedEx Customer Service or on FedEx website.
