Example of how Ship&co Fulfills Multi-location Orders on Shopify
Situation 1: Suppose you have an order with two items: Item X and Item Y. Your inventory for these items is as follows:
[Item X]
Location A (default) - Inventory quantity: 0
Location B - Inventory quantity: 3
[Item Y]
Location A (default) - Inventory quantity: 2
Location B - No inventory set up for this item
By default, Ship&co will allow you to fulfill an item from a location with inventory.
- If you select Location B in Ship&co's order page, you can only fulfill Item X.
- To fulfill Item Y, you will need to create another shipment and set Location A as your warehouse.
Situation 2: Suppose you have an order with three items: Item X, Item Y, and Item Z. The order contains three different SKUs. Your inventory for these items is as follows:
- Item X has quantity in 3 locations → Location A, B, C
- Item Y has quantity in 2 locations → Location A and C (No inventory set up for Location B)
- Item Z has quantity in 2 locations → Location C and D (No inventory set up for Location A)
Ship&co will use locations available for online orders and with the most inventory quantities to fulfill items. In the above case, all 3 Items will be fulfilled from Location C. If all items are available in all 3 locations, locations with the most quantities will be used to fulfill them.
