In this article, let's take a look at what each of the General preferences located on Settings page mean and how you can set them to your preference.
Ask for a signature on delivery by default (UPS, DHL, FedEx):
Tick this option if you want to apply signature option for all your international shipment with UPS, DHL and FedEx. Please refer to this page for more details. This setting will be reflected in the "Signature required" in the Options section, on each order page.
Note: You can of course also adjust for individual orders, but setting this by default will help save time if you are keen on getting a signature upon delivery always.
Weight Unit:
Select between Grams (g/cm), Kilograms (kg/cm), Ounces (oz/in) and Pounds (lbs/in). This setting will be reflected in the "Parcels", on each order page.
Default discount rate on order value for customs clearance:
Add a discount rate for your declared parcel value. This will be applied to all shipments. This setting will be reflected in the Discount and the Ordered items on each order page.
Default type of content:
Set up your default type of content for your shipment between Merchandise, Sample, Gift, Non-Commercial Value Document, Return, Repair, Personal items and Other. This setting will be applied to Shipment Type of all shipments. You can edit each of them later if needed.
Note: For international orders, you are required to set a type of content for your shipment.
Language:
Set up language for Ship&co application from these options: Japanese, English, French, Chinese (Traditional), or Chinese (Simplified).
CSV file encoding:
Select the format for CSV file between CSV for GoogleSheets, Number... in any language (UTF8) or CSV for Excel in Japanese (Shift_JIS). This will be applied to CSV format you can export by searching or filtering orders from Shipment page.
Receive emails from Ship&co:
Tick this option if you'd like to receive email from Ship&co.
Use Bedal scanner:
Tick this option if you'd like to measure parcel weight using Bedal Weight Scanner.
