To use your DHL account in Ship&co, you need to obtain DHL API credentials. Follow the steps below.
If you already have a DHL ("old") account in Ship&co, you’ll need a new DHL Site ID and Password to use the new integration. Your DHL account number will remain the same.
Step 1: Register on the API Developer Portal (if you do not have an account yet)
• Register your email address and username on the API Developer Portal. Once you receive a confirmation email, set up your password.
Step 2: Request API Credentials
• Log in to the API Developer Portal and go to the Get Access section.
• Register your customer information and request API credentials.
Step 3: Confirm Your API Credentials
• After receiving two emails, use the links provided to log in to the API Developer Portal and verify your API credentials.

Step 1: Register on the API Developer Portal
(If you already have an account on DHL Dev. portal, go to Step 2.)
1. Access the DHL Developer Portal: https://developer.dhl.com/user
2. Fill in the required fields:
• First Name (in English)
• Last Name (in English)
• Email Address: This will also be your Username
• Company Name (in English)
• Country: Select the country you are based from the dropdown
• Check the box to agree to the terms and privacy policy
• Complete the CAPTCHA and click Submit
3. You will receive an email from portal@developer.dhl titled “Account details for [Your Email] at DHL API Developer Portal”.
• Click the link in the email to proceed to the password setup page.
After setting your password, you can log into the portal using the provided link and your credentials.
4. Set your password for the API Developer Portal
•After receiving the confirmation email, click the link to go to the Set Password page.
•Enter your new password following these requirements:
•At least 8 characters
•Include at least three of the following: uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters (e.g., &, $, @).
•Confirm your password and click Save.
Step 2: Request API Credentials from the API Developer Portal
1. Access the DHL Developer Portal and log in with your new username and password.
2. Once logged in, click Get Access! at the top right of the screen to request API credentials.
3. Fill in your company information (all fields marked with * are required).
• Account Details:
• DHL Express Account Number: Enter your 9-digit DHL account number.
• Requestor Company Details:
• Company Name: Enter your company name (in English).
• Contact Name: Enter your full name (in English).
• Address: Provide your full address (in English).
• City: Enter your city (in English).
• Postal Code: Enter your postal code.
• Country: Select Japan or your respective country from the dropdown.
• Email: Your email will be pre-filled from your account registration.
• Phone Number: Enter your phone number.
• Requestor Details Confirmation:
• If the requestor details are the same as the account owner details, select "Yes".
4. How would you like to use the API?
• Select I require credentials to DHL Express – MyDHL API for an existing plugin/ecommerce platform/third-party solution.
• In the Requestor Platform Name field, enter "Ship&co".
5. Requested Services:
• Check the box for both Rating and Shipment services.
• Rating Details: enter "Rating" in the first field, then input an estimate of your monthly transaction volume in the second filed.
• Create Shipment Details: enter "Create Shipment" in the first field, then input your monthly volume in the second filed.
6. Final Steps:
• Accept the DHL Express Terms of Use and General Terms and Privacy Policy by checking both boxes.
• Click Submit to complete the request.
Step 3: Confirm Your API Credentials from the Developer Portal
1. You will receive two emails from DHL Express - MyDHL API (no-reply@dhl.com) usually the next (business) day after registration:
• Email 1: Test Access Approved
• Email 2: Production Access Approved
Once you receive the second email (Production Access Approved), click the link in the email to log into the API Developer Portal using your Username and Password.
2. Check your API Key and API Secret:
. In the portal, click on the link with your Company Name under the DHL EXPRESS - MYDHL API section.
• Click on Show Key next to API Key and API Secret to reveal the credentials.
These are the credentials you need to integrate your DHL account with Ship&co.
