After creating a DHL international shipping label in Ship&co, you can upload additional customs documents directly from the Shipments page.
Supported document types:
- Customs Declaration
- Pro Forma Invoice
- Certificate of Origin
- Commercial Invoice
Eligibility Requirements
This feature is available for shipping labels that meet all of the following conditions:
- The selected carrier is DHL Express
- The shipment uses DHL Paperless Trade (PLT)
- The shipping label has not been voided/cancelled
- At least 10 minutes have passed since the label was created
Requirement: DHL Paperless Trade (PLT)
This feature requires a DHL Paperless Trade (PLT) shipment. To enable PLT, register your signature image is required on the Ship&co's "Settings" page >> Commercial Invoice preferences. Fore more details about PLT, please see this page.
10-Minute Wait After Label Creation
The Upload button appears only after 10 minutes have passed since the label was created. This is a DHL requirement. If you try to upload sooner, the following message will appear:
DHL requires a 10-minute waiting period after label creation before documents can be uploaded. Please try again shortly.
How to Upload a Document
- Go to the "Shipments" screen in Ship&co and locate the target shipping label
- Click the "Upload" button from the actions menu
- In the modal that appears, select the appropriate document type from the "Select document type" dropdown
- Click "Choose a file…" to select the file you wish to upload, then click "Upload" in the bottom-right corner of the modal to submit
Shipment History CSV Export
The "UploadedDocuments" column in the shipped history CSV (exported from the "Shipments" screen) records uploaded documents for DHL shipments as well.
- The file name(s) of any uploaded documents are recorded in this column
- If multiple documents have been uploaded for a single shipping label, the file names are separated by a pipe character
|(e.g.,invoice.pdf | certificate.pdf) - Shipping labels with no uploaded documents will have an empty value in this column
Notes
- The upload function is available only until the shipment is picked up. Once the shipment has been picked up, any attempt to upload a document will result in an error
- Only PDF files are accepted (maximum 2 MB per file)
- Uploaded documents cannot be deleted. Please review the file carefully before submitting. If you need to remove an uploaded document after submission, you will need to either cancel the shipping label in Ship&co or contact DHL directly
- The document upload operation is currently only available from the Ship&co app screen. If you normally use the Ship&co API, please also perform document uploads from the app screen
