Shipping to certain countries requires the recipient's tax identification number for customs clearance. Shopify collects this at checkout for supported destinations, and Ship&co automatically retrieves that information from the order data and includes it on the shipping label.
Supported countries and required fields
| Country/region | Required information |
|---|---|
| Brazil | CPF (individuals) / CNPJ (companies) |
| China | Resident Identity Card number (Resident ID) |
| South Korea | Personal Customs Clearance Code (PCCC) |
| Mexico | RFC (Registro Federal de Contribuyentes) |
| Italy | Codice Fiscale (CF) / PEC - for domestic shipments |
How it works
When a customer enters their tax ID during Shopify checkout, it automatically populates the "Consignee VAT or Tax ID" field under "See all options" >> "Extra options" on the Ship&co order page. The information is then transmitted to the carrier when a shipping label is created. No additional setup is required.
